Lord Woodstock's "friendly set-to," a bout of boxing in a courtyard, is the moment this poster highlights from the production. *Sporting Life* was a London melodrama by Cecil Raleigh and Seymour Hicks, part of the Drury Lane tradition of large sporting spectacles that mixed gambling, racing and rough-and-tumble action for crowds in the 1890s. The lithograph dates to 1898 and was printed by the Strobridge Lithographing Company of Cincinnati and New York for Jacob Litt, a theatrical publisher who supplied posters to promote productions in the United States.
