Here the caption carries the story: "You will save the child not as a priest as a physician!" The subjects list rabbis, a blindfolded girl, and a plea for help, so the poster appears to show a scene in which a religious leader is pressed to act as a healer. Edwin Arden (1864-1918), an American actor, is named as the star of this 1899 romantic play. The lithograph was printed by the Strobridge Litho Co. of Cincinnati and New York for Jacob Litt, the producer whose name appears on many theatrical posters of the period.
