The line printed across this 1899 lithograph, "Write any confession you want but let my people go!", is a plea that gives the sheet its character, and it advertises *Zorah*, a romantic play by the actor and writer Edwin Arden. The Strobridge Litho Co. of Cincinnati and New York produced the poster for the proprietor Jacob Litt, and its subject listing of rabbis and Jewish figures suggests the drama drew on a religious community. Strobridge was one of the busiest American printers of theatrical posters in this period, and sheets like this one were pasted up to draw audiences to the show.
