This silkscreen poster announces a show of paintings by Ohio artists, on view through March 1938, and was issued under the Federal Art Project. Silkscreen was a method the WPA poster units favored because it was inexpensive, could be printed in quantity, and suited bold areas of flat color. A date stamp on the back, March 3, 1938, places the poster within the exhibition's run. Federal Art Project posters like this one helped the program bring art to public walls and shop windows in towns that seldom saw original paintings.
