Two New York American League pitchers, George McConnell and Michael Cann, stand for the camera at Hilltop Park, the team's home ballpark in Washington Heights, Manhattan. The glass negative comes from the Bain News Service, a wire photo agency that supplied newspapers with images of sports and news. The 1912 date was assigned by a Society for American Baseball Research committee, so it rests on later research rather than a dated caption. Hilltop Park was near the end of its use: the club moved to the Polo Grounds in 1913, and the park was later taken over for other purposes.
