Here the subject is sculpture rather than painting or theater, and the exhibition title and dates are printed right on the sheet, with the sculptor Maurice Glickman named in the catalog record. The poster comes from the Federal Art Project, part of the Works Progress Administration (renamed the Work Projects Administration in 1939), which employed artists during the Depression and produced low-cost posters for exhibitions, concerts, and classes. Its silkscreen process allowed bold flat colors and quick reprints. A date stamp on the back, April 9, 1938, shows the sheet was filed about two years after the 1936 show it advertises.
