Trinity Church is most often identified with the Episcopal parish at Broadway and Wall Street in Lower Manhattan, though the record's title is unverified and gives no date or location. The present Gothic Revival church, designed by Richard Upjohn, was completed in 1846, and its churchyard holds the graves of Alexander Hamilton and other early New Yorkers. The Bain News Service, which made many news and street photographs in New York in the early twentieth century, produced this glass negative, so the image likely records the surroundings of its era. Viewers should check the building's details against the church's known features to confirm which Trinity Church is shown.
