Few pictures on this board show a full six-horse hitch laid out in a wide panoramic frame, and this one records the team from its left side. The Pabst Brewing Company of Milwaukee used teams of heavy draft horses to pull its beer wagons, and well-matched hitches like this one were a common way for breweries to advertise their trade on city streets. The wide format, made by a Chicago photographer and registered for copyright in January 1905, lets the viewer take in the full length of the team, harness, and wagon at once.
