Bridal Veil Falls, which drops beside the Wawona Trail in Yosemite Valley, is the detail that sets this print apart from the valley's many views of Half Dome and El Capitan. The photograph dates to about 1906, a period when Yosemite had been a state reserve for less than a half century and was drawing growing numbers of visitors by stagecoach and rail. Trails like the Wawona route carried those travelers past the falls, and photographers such as Herve Friend, whose Hollywood studio holds the copyright noted on the record, sold views like this one as souvenirs. The print is worth a look for its record of how the valley was presented to tourists in the early twentieth century.
