Inspiration Point was one of the best-known vantage points in Yosemite Valley, and this card records the view that drew visitors there: El Capitan on the left, Bridal Veil Falls, Sentinel Rock and Dome, and Half Dome with Cloud's Rest beyond. The H.C. White Company, a Vermont firm that produced many scenic stereographs for parlor viewers, issued the card. Dated about 1904, it reflects a period when Yosemite was attracting growing numbers of tourists, and the paired images would have given viewers a sense of depth in the granite walls and valley floor.
