Two doctors, named in the record only as Dr. Weidfelt and Dr. Kisselbach, are the subjects of this glass negative dated February 15, 1923, though the title comes from unverified data on the negative or its sleeve. The National Photo Company, which worked in Washington, D.C., from the early 1900s into the 1920s, documented many people and events in the city, and glass plates like this were the standard medium of that era before flexible film became common. Note the streaks and blemishes across the surface, which catalogers attribute to natural deterioration of the original coatings.
