Rather than a broad view of the city, this plate isolates the residence of Count Thaun in Vienna, showing its buildings and grounds as a planned complex. Salomon Kleiner, an Augsburg-trained draftsman known for recording Habsburg palaces and churches, made the drawing, and Ignaz Anton Corvinus cut the engraving for the 1733 Augsburg publication. The Latin and German captions carry lettered keys that identify specific sites, so the sheet works as both a picture and a guide to the palace and its surroundings in early eighteenth-century Vienna.
