Buffalo, New York, hosted the Pan-American Exposition, and this color lithograph poster advertises it. The caption card credits the Courier Lithograph Company and dates the piece to 1900, though the fair itself opened in May 1901 and drew visitors through that year's fall season. The exposition was built to showcase trade and ideas across the Americas, and its electric lighting, powered by Niagara Falls, made it a landmark of early twentieth-century fair design. Because the date comes from an unverified caption card, it is worth checking against other records of the fair.
