Marion Leech is the name attached to this glass negative, though the Library of Congress notes that it is unverified and came from information the National Photo Company wrote on the negatives or their sleeves. The plate dates to about 1921, during the years the Washington, D.C., studio was producing portraits and street views for everyday commercial use. Glass negatives of this age often show streaks and coating loss, and the blemishes here reflect that natural deterioration of the original coatings. Herbert A. French gave the negative to the Library in 1947.
