Connie, whom the caption describes as unafraid of anything, is the focus of this ink drawing, with Randy as her companion. It comes from *Wee Pals*, the comic strip Morrie Turner began in 1965, which showed a racially mixed group of children playing and bickering together at a time when few national comics did. The record also tags the drawing with the subjects of Black power and fear, themes that surfaced in many 1960s comics. Its May 1968 publication date places it during a year of intense national debate over civil rights, which gives this small gag some added weight.
