Morale hastens victory" is the slogan that frames this 1918 lithograph by F. Luis Mora, which asks Americans to support the troops rather than enlist. The poster promotes the United War Work Campaign, held November 11 to 18, 1918, and its caption lists eight organizations that pooled their fundraising: the YMCA, YWCA, National Catholic War Council, Knights of Columbus, Jewish Welfare Board, War Camp Community Service, American Library Association, and Salvation Army. The joint drive raised money for services for servicemen at home and overseas, and it began on Armistice Day, so its appeal was aimed at sustaining morale through the war's final days and its aftermath.
