Lenox Soap is an advertising poster for a laundry soap, printed in color by Strobridge & Co., a Cincinnati lithography firm that produced many commercial posters and calendars in the late 1800s. The catalog record dates it to 1897 and links it to Procter & Gamble, the Cincinnati soap maker, though the note says these details come from an older caption card and have not been verified. In that period, color lithographs like this one were a major tool for brand advertising, reaching shoppers in stores, streets, and homes before magazine and radio advertising became common.
