This chromolithograph, titled *American Collection* and issued by Geo. H. Walker & Co. of Boston around 1885, is one of the few pictures on this board that brings together three landmarks in a single sheet: Independence Hall in Philadelphia, the United States Capitol in Washington, and the Statue of Liberty in New York. Its subjects also include George Washington, who links the three sites. The print was registered with the U.S. Copyright Office and was made as sheet music cover art, a common format in the 1880s when color lithography was used to sell popular songs. The Statue of Liberty was still under construction in 1885 and was dedicated in October 1886, so the image captures it as a patriotic symbol before its official unveiling.
