Returning from a flight over Portland, Oregon, Thomas Scott Baldwin's airship appears in this stereograph, taken during the Lewis and Clark Centennial. The 1905 exposition drew crowds to Portland to mark the centennial of the Lewis and Clark expedition, and Baldwin's airship flights were among the attractions that drew attention to the fair. Stereo cards like this were printed as paired images to be viewed through a stereoscope, which gave the scene a sense of depth. The c1905 date comes from an old caption card and has not been independently verified.
