Logansport, Indiana, sits where the Eel River meets the Wabash, and in March 1913 the rising water from the Great Flood reached the town hard. This stereograph, numbered 12 and copyrighted by E.W. Kelley, pairs two nearly identical views that a stereoscope fuses into a single scene with depth. Stereo cards like this were a popular way for people in the 1910s to see disasters and distant places from their parlors, and the 1913 flood ranks among the most destructive the Midwest has known.
