Few details in the record name the club, but the carriage house and its grounds show a kind of building that was common at private clubs in New York City in the years before 1910. Horses still did much of the work of moving members and their guests, and a carriage house stood close to the main clubhouse to store vehicles and stable animals. The image is a glass dry plate negative of 8 x 10 inches, made by the Detroit Publishing Company, a firm that sold large numbers of American city and landscape views. Its catalog number and the 1949 gift to the State Historical Society of Colorado are recorded with it.
