Three men who shared the name George Tryon Harding appear in this halftone, which was printed as an illustration on page 116 of Wilber J. Harding's family history *The Hardings in America* in 1925. The title links the elder George Tryon Harding with his son and grandson, both known as Dr. George T. Harding. Halftone reproduction broke a photograph into a pattern of dots so it could be printed alongside type, and family histories of the period often used it to carry images of relatives. The identifications come from a caption card that has not been independently verified, so the relationships are best read as the family's own account.
