Marking the centennial of DuPage County, Illinois, this 1939 poster announces a photo and art exhibit held in Clarendon Hills, a village in the county. DuPage was organized in 1839, so the anniversary gave local communities a reason to show their photographers and painters side by side. The poster is a silkscreen print, a method the Works Progress Administration's poster program used widely in the late 1930s to produce bold, inexpensive public notices across the country.
