Walter L. Main's show advertised 63 performing horses working in a single ring, a boast that reflects the horse-centered spectacle that drew crowds to American towns around the turn of the twentieth century. The color poster was printed by the Courier Lithographic Company of Buffalo, New York, a firm that produced many circus bills of the period, and it was deposited for copyright. Posters like this were meant to be read from across a street on fences and walls, so their bold color and crowded imagery were a deliberate sales tool. The c1899 date comes from an older caption card and has not been fully verified.
