Aerial views of the Ford Building show it in the foreground of the 1935 San Diego exposition, the California Pacific International Exposition held in Balboa Park. Ford's pavilion stood among the park's older Spanish Colonial Revival buildings from the 1915 fair, and the bird's-eye angle shows how the 1935 grounds were laid out. The fair celebrated San Diego's trade and its links with Pacific neighbors during the Depression. The photograph was made by Harry A. Erickson, whose aerial work documented the grounds.
