The title, only partly legible in the record as a Russian phrase meaning roughly "develop production and," points to the slogans that shaped Soviet printed media in the years after the war. This composite photoprint dates to 1946, when the Soviet Union was rebuilding factories damaged in the fighting and launching a new five-year plan centered on heavy industry. Photomontages like this one joined several images into a single scene, a method common in Soviet posters and magazines for presenting industrial growth as a unified, forward-looking achievement. The caption card lists factories and industry as the subject, though the source data is unverified.
