Two Allied leaders meet on a warship in this photograph, a setting that reflects the wartime logistics of early 1945. The record dates it to February 2, 1945, which places it during the stop in Malta before the Yalta Conference in Crimea, where Franklin D. Roosevelt, Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin met to plan the postwar order and the final push against Germany. Military photographers of the Army Signal Corps documented many such wartime meetings. The caption information comes from an older card and has not been fully verified, so the exact location and circumstances are worth checking against other sources.
