Taken in the Crimean resort town of Yalta in February 1945, this Signal Corps photograph shows Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill at the palace where the Allied leaders held their wartime conference. The meeting at Livadia Palace, which also included Joseph Stalin, brought the three men together to settle plans for occupied Germany and postwar Europe and to lay groundwork for a new international organization. It was Roosevelt's last major meeting with his wartime allies, as he died about two months later.
