This German poster, printed in color in 1915, announces a collection point, or *Annahmestelle*, for the Ludendorff-Spende, a private donation drive named for General Erich Ludendorff, the army's chief quartermaster. The design is credited to Bernhard, most likely the poster designer Lucian Bernhard, whose bold, simplified shapes and direct lettering shaped German commercial and propaganda graphics of the period. Wartime posters like this one asked ordinary citizens to give money and, in doing so, to show support for the war effort. The poster's subjects, the economic and fundraising side of the war, reflect how much of Germany's home front depended on voluntary contributions.
