Part of an educational series, this stereograph card is titled for the "Elementary Science Unit" on domestic animals, and it shows a team of horses hitched to a plow. Keystone View Company, a firm known for classroom stereoviews, produced and copyrighted the card, and the record dates it to about 1947, though that date comes from an unverified caption. By the mid-1940s, tractors were replacing draft animals on many American farms, so a card like this would have been meant to teach children how horses once did field work. Viewed through a stereoscope, the two nearly identical images merge into a single three-dimensional scene.
