Unlike the other theater drawings on this board, this one shows the street face of Poli's theater at Pennsylvania Avenue and 15th Street NW in Washington, D.C., drawn as a flat elevation rather than a perspective view. Poli's was part of a vaudeville and early motion picture circuit built by Sylvester Z. Poli, whose houses ran through New England and the Mid-Atlantic states. The 1919 date places the drawing in the years when downtown Washington theaters were being updated for growing crowds. Its ink-on-paper lines show the facade's proportions and ornament as the architects intended them.
