Its title promises a house "very well covered" in the province of Suere, and the thatched roof is the subject the record highlights. The print is an illustration on leaf 85 verso of Girolamo Benzoni's *La historia del mondo nuovo*, published in Venice in 1565 by F. Rampazetto. Benzoni, a Milanese who spent many years in the Spanish Americas, wrote the book to describe the lands and peoples he had seen, and images like this gave European readers an early visual sense of native building methods. Its focus on the roof rather than the walls makes it a useful record of how such dwellings were covered.
