This color lithograph, signed by L. Jonas, urges viewers to subscribe for victory and for the triumph of liberty. It was produced for the fourth National Defense Loan of 1918 and promoted on behalf of the Crédit Commercial de France, one of the banks that sold the government's war bonds to the public. Lithography allowed such campaigns to print large runs quickly for city walls and public spaces. The record's notes also point to flags and Red Cross associations, which show how borrowing was framed as both a national duty and a contribution to wartime relief.
