Under the slogan "To-day is another day. Make it safe!", this 1936 silkscreen poster asks laborers to think about hazards before they begin work. Its record names the Federal theater Project as sponsor, a reminder that New Deal arts programs of the 1930s made public information graphics as well as plays and murals. Silkscreen allowed inexpensive runs of many copies, which helped agencies post safety messages in workplaces across the country. The back of this copy bears an April 1937 date stamp, showing it was in use within a year of its design.
