This 1940 silkscreen poster is a public health appeal issued through the Cook County Public Health Unit in Illinois, urging residents to join what its title calls America's crusade against tuberculosis. It was produced under the Federal Art Project of the Works Progress Administration, which employed artists during the Great Depression to make posters for government agencies and community groups. Tuberculosis was still a leading cause of death in the United States in the 1940s, and campaigns like this one used bold, simplified imagery to reach people who might otherwise ignore health warnings. The poster is held in the Library of Congress's WPA Poster Collection.
