Morgan Hall is one of the older buildings on the Williams College campus in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and this 8 x 10 inch glass negative records it as part of the college green. Williams was founded in 1793, and by the early 1900s its campus was a well-known image of New England collegiate life. The Detroit Publishing Company made large-format views like this one for its catalog of American scenes, and the company is better known today for its color prints. This negative is dated to between 1900 and 1906 based on the company's catalog of that year.
