A convertible Chrysler sits in the foreground of this view, with the rest of the show floor receding behind it, which sets it apart from other automobile displays in the collection. The record places the exhibit probably in Washington, D.C., but does not name the hall. The National Photo Company was a commercial studio that photographed the capital and its events for more than two decades, and its pictures show how car shows were staged in the years after the First World War, when automobiles were becoming an everyday consumer purchase.
