Wilbur W. Marsh, treasurer of the Democratic National Committee, and S.W. Fordyce of St. Louis were photographed together at the committee's headquarters in Washington, D.C., on January 8, 1920. The National Photo Company, a Washington studio that recorded officials, offices and events in the capital during the 1910s and 1920s, made the negative. Its glass plate shows streaks and blemishes from the natural deterioration of the original coating, which are worth noticing when reading the image's fine details.
