The poster announces *Ready! Aim! Fire!*, a musical comedy that was moved to the Mayan theater in Los Angeles, a detail that sets it apart from many Federal theater Project posters of the period. The Federal theater Project, part of the Works Progress Administration, employed actors, writers, and stagehands during the Great Depression and staged productions across the country, often at low ticket prices. Its posters were printed by silkscreen, a method the WPA poster units used to produce bold, flat areas of color at low cost. Look at how the lettering and color blocks work together to grab attention from the street.
