A construction-era view of the Siamese display at the 1876 Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia, labeled as part of the Naval Exhibit, shows the fairgrounds in Fairmount Park before they were finished. The Centennial, marking the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, drew exhibits from dozens of nations, and Siam (now Thailand) was among the foreign countries that sent displays.
