The picture shows the Idaho State Capitol in Boise, a building that went up in stages between 1905 and 1920 on a rise above the city. The Boise firm of Tourtellotte & Hummel designed it, and it is faced in local stone and topped with a copper-clad dome. The caption card credits the print to Johnson & Boise, but the date and that attribution are unverified, so the image is best read as a record of the building during its early decades.
