Lange had died in October 1965, so this Museum of Modern Art show, which ran from late January to late March 1966, served as a tribute to the photographer. Her Farm Security Administration pictures of Depression-era migrants and farm families had shaped how many Americans saw rural poverty. The record comes from a caption card, and its details are marked as unverified, including the title's spelling of "Dorthea." Treat the dates and attribution as provisional until they can be checked against exhibition records.
