Poster number 80 in the Parliamentary Recruiting Committee's series speaks directly to boys, telling them to "come along" because they are wanted. The Committee was set up in 1915 to encourage voluntary enlistment in Britain's expanding army, and David Allen & Sons of Harrow, a major commercial lithographer, printed its posters. The catalog record tags the design with silhouettes, maps and soldiers, a mix of simple figures and military geography typical of the period's recruiting appeals. Posters like this one were pasted on hoardings and station walls across the country, making them among the most visible forms of wartime persuasion.
