This color lithograph, printed by David Allen & Sons in Harrow, addresses young men directly with the words "Boys come over here, you're wanted." It was issued by the Parliamentary Recruiting Committee in London, which was set up to encourage voluntary enlistment in Britain during the First World War. In 1915 Britain still depended on volunteers, and posters like this one aimed to make military service seem both necessary and personal. The poster is catalogued as number 82 in the series, and it reflects the wartime effort to fill the ranks before conscription began in 1916.
