Two ballerinas share the frame of this color lithograph, with a blond dancer in front and a brunette partner posed behind her. The Calvert Lithographing Company of Detroit printed it around 1890 and registered it for copyright that year. Like many chromolithographed posters of the period, it used bright inks to draw attention, and stage dancing was a popular subject for commercial art of the late nineteenth century. The pairing of the two figures suggests a design meant to catch the eye of passersby.
