Three women, identified in the title only by the surnames McLean, Harding, and Marshall, appear in this glass negative dated December 7, 1920, though the record does not say who they were. The date falls about five weeks after Warren G. Harding won the presidential election that November, when Washington was closely watching the incoming administration. The National Photo Company worked in the capital from the early 1900s into the 1930s, producing many portraits and street scenes, and the record notes that the glass may show streaks or other blemishes from the deterioration of its original coating.
