The rectory and grounds of the University of Havana, photographed on January 15, 1928, are captioned in Spanish with a reference to the visit of President Calvin Coolidge, who traveled to Havana that month for the Sixth International Conference of American States. The Secretaría de Obras Públicas, Cuba's public works office, is named as the source, so the picture was likely meant to showcase the government's building and landscaping work at the campus.
