The Natural Bridge in Rockbridge County, Virginia, is a limestone arch spanning roughly 215 feet over Cedar Creek, and this view places the formation within the wooded landscape that surrounds it. The site drew travelers for more than two centuries before it became a protected attraction, and Thomas Jefferson once owned the land and wrote about the arch in his *Notes on the State of Virginia*. Because the bridge sits near the Blue Ridge Parkway corridor, it is often grouped with the region's scenic landmarks, though it lies just outside the Parkway itself. Look closely at the surroundings to see how the creek and rock walls frame the arch.
