Travolta's name and Karen Gorney's appear together on this c1977 Paramount poster for *Saturday Night Fever*, the film that pushed disco dancing into the national spotlight. Travolta plays Tony Manero, a young paint store clerk in Brooklyn whose weekends come alive on the dance floor. The movie was adapted from Nik Cohn's 1976 magazine article about working-class discotheque culture, and its Bee Gees soundtrack became one of the best-selling of its era. The poster captures the glossy, white-suited look that made the film a defining image of late-1970s pop culture.
