This poster advertises *Fear in the Night*, a 1947 thriller that gave a young DeForest Kelley one of his early screen roles, a few years before he became widely known for his later television work. Paul Kelly, a veteran character actor of the period, shares top billing, and the poster's bold color and dramatic styling reflect the postwar appetite for suspense pictures built around dark, unsettling premises. Film posters of this era were designed to sell a mood quickly, so the artwork often promised more menace than the modest budgets of such pictures could always deliver.
